Six Six One Evo d3o Knee Pad

When you hit the dirt, the impact-sensing SixSixOne Evo d3o Knee Pads go into action, deflecting the blow and saving you from yet another pair of bloody socks. The Evo Knee Pads feature an abrasion-resistant molded-Kevlar front panel over SixSixOne's innovative d3o material, a flexible substance that hardens when impacted by an external force. This allows the pads to remain light and flexible without lessening all-mountain and light freeride protection. Side pads support and protect delicate tendons while dual straps and a full neoprene mesh sleeve keep these SixSixOne guards in place.

Bottom Line: Hot weather knee guards for when your legs can't handle full shinnies.

Measure around your leg above and below your knee then compare your legs to the sizing chart. Choose the closest one.

Ditto on the comfort-can wear them all day....get back from 6 runs and forget you even have them on. Would also venture to say they may offer better protection than hard-pads. Saved me numerous times...pricy but definately worth it. Have not had any issues to durability.

Buy the telenkeesis pad from Black Diamond. I wear those every day when telemarking, and they are really great, comfortable, do the job. Plus they're a lot cheaper.

i bought these after missing a landing off a pipe and doing some nerve damage to my knee. they fit like a neoprene knee support you can by from the any sports store. i've had no problems with slips. i was surprised with how well they work; much better than simple foam pads. you need to figure out how to get them to fit best based on the shape of your legs and how they bend, but once you have the dialed in the work very well.

When in doubt, I go smaller. I'd rather deal with something being too snug than to have it floating around and not protecting properly. Impact gear that's too big will move around a bunch when you're eating crap. But yo, be savvy! Order up both sizes and return the one that doesn't cut it for you. We've got a bomber return policy to help take the guess-work out of these decisions. Rap with a Gearhead and they'll get you all sorted out.

wore the knee pads for three days and the sides have already separated from the pad portion. disappointed, especially since they're pricey.

Comfy but fragile.

Hands-down the most comfortable pads I've ever worn. I don't even notice them when wearing them. I've put a knee down a few times and they've stayed in place and done their job, although no super high speed crashes (yet). The stitching however ripped right out as soon as the pad hit dirt. Not sure what to do about that, I left it and they are holding together, for now. Kinda disappointing that a $110 pad should start falling apart on the first impact.

I absolutely love my d3o pads, however these pads have not been approved (let alone applied) for CE EN1621-2 certification. While I'm sure it'd be nice to have the peace of mind of the certification, I trust the d3o pads with my skin day after day and don't regret it one bit. Hope this helps!

Envision where a knee pad should rest, and measure there. I'd go ~6" from your kneecap to get a fairly good idea.

The size on this is determined by the leg circumference. There are two measurements for each size, there is the upper leg opening and the lower leg opening. On the small the upper is 15 inches (39 cm) and the lower is 12.5 inches (32 cm). Medium has the upper as 16 inches (41cm) and the lower as 13 inches (33cm). Large is upper of 17 inches (43cm) and a lower of 14 inches (36cm). Finally the XL is an upper 18 inches (46cm) and a lower of 15 inches (38cm).
