Sidi Giau Shoe - Men's

Sidi made the Men’s Giau Bike Shoe with comfort and performance in mind to help you rip ultra-rough trails and dominate long-distance races. This plush shoe features a three-strap hook-and-loop closure to get you in and out in seconds and even adjust on the fly during a long straight stretch. Sidi’s Competition sole provides great traction in muddy conditions and even allows you to add toe spike when the going gets really steep. Plenty of vents keep your feet cool when you’re doing a 24-hour race or just hitting some scorching Moab trails.

Bottom Line: For the long haul.

Fits an average width foot

I have a pretty average width foot and these fit me great. I wear a 10.5 running shoe and the 45's fit me, but are a tad on the large size, which can be okay depending on your preference. Some people like to be able to wear larger socks in cold weather, etc. I'd prefer to have them just a bit more snug. Not sure if the 44.5's would be too snug.

I like 3 straps vs 2. For example, this shoe fits me perfect in the arch and heel, but the toe box is bit wide. So it's nice to be able to tighten it up there separate from the arch area.

The tread seems to be about average depth, so you shouldn't need to use an extensions on your cleats.

The overall comfort of the shoe is excellent. I was told by people that have bought Sidi's before that nothing else is quite as comfortable or durable as a Sidi. I don't have lots of shoes to compare to. I have only owned Northwaves before, which were also good, but these seem a bit more comfortable.

For item #SID0036 Sidi Giau Men Bike Shoe, I have some questions.

For item #SID0036 Sidi Giau Men Bike Shoe, I have some questions. First, I have never bought a mountain biking shoe although I've been riding for 4 years now. I wanted to start with SIDI as my first pair. I don't quite understand the sizing. In typical casual shoes, I wear a size 11. Depending on the shoe brand, sometimes shoes run a whole size bigger so I would wear size 12. E.g. Skechers I wear a US 11 whereas New Balance I wear a US 12. Also, I noticed that you can get different width shoe size. I have a narrow foot for the most part, but in typical casual shoes I don't usually ask for narrow shoe. I'm hoping you can help me out. I wish I could just try on the shoe, but the only place in Denver, CO that retails SIDI said they had to specially order this shoe and the price they gave me was about $20 more than what I've seen online. Please help. Thanks.

I wear a size 12 in most shoes and wear the Sidi 46 mega...I have a wide foot. Euro size 46 almost always fits me...and the charts call that an 11.5. If you want to try on some Sidi shoes in Denver...try Schwab's Cyclery. That's where I bought mine and they have a wide variety of sizes and styles...Bicycle Garage carries them too...I think REI has them too. Prices on the internet are cheaper than local shops though.

Jeffrey, I can tell you I wear a size 49 Sidi which relates to a size 14 US. I do wear 14's with Salomon shoes, but I wear a size 13 in Vans. Since many outdoor shops carry Salomon you could give them a try and perhaps find the right size there. As for the width, I have been told Salomon is a "narrow footbox" shoe and they are perfect for me. If you find that they fit you nicely as well then I doubt you would need to go with the wider options. Hope this helps a bit.
