Serfas Straight Cable - 2008

If you're not a fan of U-locks, grab a trusty padlock and this coated steel cable from Serfas and hit the road. When you reach your destination, wrap the four- or seven-foot (your choice) cable through your frame, spokes, and seat rails like a snake, lock it up, and sleep easy knowing that thieves are feeling major frustration.

Bottom Line: Flex is best when securing your steed, says the Serfas Steel Cable.

It's a Cable

Not a whole lot to say here. I bought the 7 ft version and I use this cable in combination with my Cutter Commuter U-Lock on a daily basis. U-lock locks the frame to the rack and I string the cable through my wheels. The cable is heavier (thicker) than many other cables I've seen. I don't have to worry about the wheels on my bike walking off. It's been used through one winter and it's held up. The coating on the cable didn't break, flake off, or crack in temps in the low teens. Good price, it's held up. Definitely a good, extra safety measure if all you have is a u-lock.
