Serfas Carbon Cage Super Light

Carbon frames not quite in your range? The Serfas Carbon Bottle Cage gives you the performance of carbon without the investment-banker price tag. Granted, it's just a bottle cage, but it's a really light bottle cage, and if you hold it up really close, you can pretend it's a weird, new wheel-less frame design.

Bottom Line: Carbon for the masses.

Great cages

I got two the the silver style cages for my new carbon Cannondale. They are lite, look great and the bottles slide in and out easily. Road vibrations don't seem to affect them and the rubber foot at the bottom of the cage keeps the battles secure.

Great cages

By:

I recently purchased two of these cages for my new Cannondale Synapse carbon 3 road bike. The cages are lightweight, strong and look sharp. The water bottles slide in and out of the cage easily and are held in tight by a small rubber foot at the bottom of the cage. I have also noticed that vibration is not a problem for these cages. The only complaint is that when tightening the cage bolts during installation, the carbon cage twists and must be realigned after the bolts are secured.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the CC-1, CC-200

Does anyone know what the difference is between the CC-1, CC-200 and the CC-300? I asked customer service and they weren't quite sure and I've not heard back from them so far. Hoping the collective can shed some light on this for me. Thanks.

light, cool and quiet!

These are great. I got two, in the black/silver colorway, and am hugely satisfied. They're light, they look cool, the grip is good and - unlike the previous arundel steel cages I had - they don't make annoying rattling sounds if you put aluminum water bottles in there.

Looks sharp... is sharp

I got the CC-300 version. The cages looks cool and hold bottles well (at least the camelbak podium bottles).

But the finish around the edges are a bit uneven, rough, and sharp. My finger got caught between a bottle and the cage and it scraped a small piece of my skin off when I was putting the bottle back. This happened when I was going around 20mph and trying to avoid a fat lady who decided to step in my path of travel though. You can probably sand the edges to make them smoother/even... but I'll just be a little more careful and look for any fat lady that might decide to step out in front of me when putting the bottle back next time.

GREAT CAGES! GREAT PRICE!

I usually bike 200-300 miles a week on the road & have had NO issue at all with bottles trying to fly out of the cages. I have regular bottles as well as the Polar 24 ounce bottles & all of them stay tight & secure! Extremely easy to get the bottles out & right back in! I LOVE THEM & RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE!

Holds Good

I've only used this on my road bike, but for a long ride, it looks great and does the job. Seems to hold it pretty snug.

excellent cage

By:

I switched from frame mounted cages to a behind the seat bottle holder (Beaker concepts hydrotail) on my tri bike. My bike came with a CC-200 Cirque SL so I simply purchased a second on to match.

Typically the issues with behind the seat mounting are 1. increased risk of bottles flying out if you hit a bump and 2. difficulty removing/replacing bottles.

So far the cage grips the bottles very well. I use the larger 24 oz polar insulated bottles and have had no issues with bottles flying out over bumps. Removal/replacement is straight forward. The wide opening makes this process quite easy even when blindly reaching behind.

It is a pricey cage and the lighter weight probably doesn't matter at the end of the day. Since I already had one it was easier to just purchase a second rather than buy two new ones. However cost/weight issues aside the cage works very well for road use (can not comment on off-road use).
