Rocky Mountain Edge 24 XC Bike - Youth

The Rocky Mountain Youth Edge 24 XC gives your grom trail-ready performance that you won’t find on in a sporting goods store. Thanks to the 24-inch tires, this Rocky Mountain bike features a low stand-over height to fit kids even better.

  • 50mm of fork travel to soften rough trails
  • ST3 frame design provides a sloping top tube for increased frame stiffness and strength and provides a lower stand over height to ease hairy dismounts
  • Dialed geometry for the tight, twisty single track and steep descents on the way to school
  • Disc brake tabs on frame for future disc brake upgrade option

Bottom Line: Start you kid on a solid steed.

This would be a great new bike for kids. The quality of the parts and frame is a lot higher than say a "big box" store bike and will last longer. The same quality that Rocky puts in their large adult bike is used for this bike also. Another advantage of buying this bike will be the quality build that comes with it. The mechanics here will make sure everything is shifting perfectly and working great. Most "big box" stores bikes are a mess when you buy them as the mechanic putting them together is very inexperienced.

Does the R.M. Edge XC 24 and 20 have the same 50mm front fork

I don't think its the same fork, but it has similar specs. They wouldn't be able to use the same fork for a 24" wheel as for a 20" wheel. The brake mounting points won't line up with the rim. So I'm guessing that the internals may be the same, but the lowers are most likely different.
