POC Bone Leg Guard - 2009

When you want to crush it on the singletrack or rule at a drunken round of kick-shins, strap on the POC Bone Leg Guard and have at it. Detailed ergonomics make sure this POC piece provides maximum protection without losing mobility. VPD material absorbs and diffuses the shock of a gnarly wreck so you can keep riding. The Bone Leg Guard comes with a detachable calf protector in case your pedal comes gunning for your calf. Increased ventilation and a soft lining crank up the comfort level as you ride.

Bottom Line: The Bone Leg Guard’s functional flexibility means no more moving like a robot—unless you want to.

Worth Every Penny

The other weekend, while cruising down a gully, I hit an akwardly placed rock and went over my handlebars. I came down w/ my left shin slamming into a pretty big and sharp rock. If I didn't have these POC's on, there would've been severe bone breakage for sure. Even a buddy, trailing me, remarked that I hit the rock pretty hard. Perhaps it was the adrenaline, but with these leg guards on, I only felt a tap. They performed as intended!

They are well-designed and are easy to ride with; there is no obstruction to pedaling. They do have a removeable calf-guard which can become uncomfortable when it is hot outside (duh!).

Aesthetically, I like them. They are sleek and do have a Star Wars Stormtrooper look to them that does stand out from the pack. I also bought the matching arm guards to complete the look. =)

They are delivered with their own hanger to dry them out after a ride and also a luxuriously soft travel bag. I don't use either of them, but it was a nice touch to the presentation.

I did quite a bit of research, comparing them with their competitors before purchasing these. In the end, I paid full MSRP on these with no regrets or buyer's remorse. As a bonus, Huckandroll was also very quick to ship them. These POC leg guards are a quality product that will last for years.

Although more expensive than the competition, as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." And in my honest opinion, these are the best on the market.

NO JOKE!

FIT: No slippage. I have chicken legs and ordered the smalls. Had to take the adjustable strap all the way in but fit is perfect. Front of guard rides about 1/8 of an inch off the front of the shin when leg is straightened which allows for excellent venting.

Function: I've taken a number of light spills in them and had no issues whatsoever. VPD material they are working with is crazy! Works just like they claim, moldable when riding and solid on impact! Actually aim for my knees and elbows now.

Build: This is actually why I bought these and I've only been more impressed since I've put them to use. For how well they work, they are extremely simple in design and not overbuilt like many of the other pads on the market. I have quite a few friends that are very glad they got their current armor on sale because they are turning around and hunting down POC products.

As an ender I just have to commend Huck n Roll on their service. The first pair I got had 2 different sized legs in the box and I didn't notice until after I had used the things. Not only did they send me a new pair that arrived within 48 hours but they paid for return shipping of the 1st set without any questions asked. Thanks Huck n Roll!

Happy Knees

By:

These leg guards are awesome. Not once during an hour of fast paced, slightly technical riding in hot humid weather did I have to stop and pull the guards back in place. I am also happy to report that I had full mobility and no chafing occurred. The rigid padding is stiff and sturdy while the VPD models beautifully around the knees. These guards are well worth it!
