I ride a mountain bike. The jacket fits over a Gore Bike Wear softshell for riding below 40 degrees F. I bought it 2 sizes larger than the softshell jacket to ensure comfortable fit. The Alp-X keeps the wind out, acts like a fender when the trails are wet, performs well without binding anywhere (like it was tailor made), and looks great (you always want to look great).
I had a spill that resulted in a hole on the sleeve. I was so disappointed. I called Gore Customer Service who will be sending me a patch until the spring when I send it in to the Apparel Repair Center to have the jacket mended.
It is worth every penny. So glad I made the investment.
