Endura Venturi Event Bike Jacket - Men's

When you go for a bike ride outside Vancouver, B.C. on a wet day, be sure to wear the Endura Men’s Venturi eVent Cycling Jacket. Endura—located in the United Kingdom and familiar with soggy riding weather—made this jacket with incredibly waterproof breathable eVent fabric, sealed the seams, and used waterproof zippers for the pockets. Neck and hem drawcords and cuff adjusters let you seal out every last drop of moisture. The chest pocket has an audio port, so you can bring your tunes without fear of your device getting waterlogged, and the Venturi’s back pocket holds your map. Rear vents let you unload body heat when your uphill push turns into a slog. And when you endo while going down, the durable Venturi gets right back on the bike along with you.

Bottom Line: Venture out, regardless of the rain.

Really like this. Great cut and features. I agree a hood would be nice, but at the same time, i HATE hood if I'm biking somewhere besides off-road due to looking back for on coming cars and whatnot. Thats why you can cinch down the neck (great feature) and if needed wear a waterproof hat/helmet cover of your liking...leaves the periphery open. I cant speak a whole lot about the events breath-ability it being summer and all (although i walked in 90 degrees with rain to get food the other day 5 minutes each way and didn't overheat or get soggy, fwiw). Material feels sturdy enough for mtb'ing. I tried out the Cutter Cyclical, and liked it a lot too, just like the style (better in person than in the pics) and more features (neck cinch, rear vent, velcro chest flap, reflective hits) on this one...I'd say this eVent material is a little bit sturdier feeling on the Endura, but both are great its a matter of taste. Fits pretty true to size, the Cutter fits a bit slimmer. Only thing that stops me from giving 5 stars, and this is the case with many jackets, no pit zips... eVent yadda yadda...should always have pit zips in an athletic jacket. Nothing is perfect i guess.

Why is the breathability rating only 8k for this Event fabric?

Why is the breathability rating only 8k for this Event fabric? I find the non-info of 'which' event fabric frustrating.....was stoked on picking an Event/likely the BC Event so checking your other event options and Event=tops in breathability doesn't appear consistent. Love more tech info so I can better make my choice.

Happy, I totally agree and feel your pain. I have been converted to eVent last year and it is amazing. The tech details are controversial. Have you ever wondered why goretex specs always just say "guaranteed" for breatheabiltiy and waterproofing? Yeah being indirect seems to solve the problem.

That aside, this is one dope jacket and event is the most breatheable stuff I have ever used. you will not go wrong with this guy.

Dry, but don't sweat too much

Overall, the jacket is well thought-out and constructed. The only thing I'd design differently would be a hood option.
I was comfortable hiking in a 3 hour 40 degee rain with 2 thin layers underneath. Bone dry.
I mainly use this jacket when I commute by bike (20 mi. each way.) I think there is room for improvement in the brethability department. It's not bad, but debatable in my mind if it's worth the extra $, compared to my previous waterproof jacket that was 1/2 the cost.
I don't regret buying it & look forward to years of use (abuse) after running into a friend of mine who had the same jacket for years & it still works fine.
